# [Journey] More Listings, More Impressions: Version One of My Upload Workflow

Do more listings mean more sales? In my case, more listings meant more impressions first, and without impressions nothing else in the business can happen. My first 50 products got nearly none.

That batch took an unscalable amount of time, and the result wasn't just no sales. Nearly no impressions, nearly no clicks. The posting itself is written up [here](https://pixelsnprofits.com/first-print-on-demand-batch-amazon/). If I kept working at that rate, the business would grow in a straight line, one slow batch at a time, when the whole point was for it to grow exponentially. So the first thing I ever improved was the workflow.

## Why impressions came first

I think of print on demand as a funnel. Impressions turn into clicks, clicks into sales. The full breakdown of where a listing leaks is [here](https://pixelsnprofits.com/why-print-on-demand-not-selling/). Fixing has to start at the top: if nobody sees the products, nothing below that step matters.

> Fix the top of the funnel first. Everything below it needs people to arrive.

The easiest way to get more impressions is to post more products. And posting more products comes down to one thing: a workflow efficient enough to produce them.

## The same four steps, upgraded one by one

Research, design, post, edit. Same workflow as the first batch. Here's what changed in each.

### Research: unchanged

Research was fine as it was. You only do it once per product, so it wasn't eating the time. It stayed out of this upgrade.

### Design: a master niche list of 200

Still text-based, still Canva, still Bulk Create. One addition changed the numbers.

A phrase like "I'd rather be in Hawaii" can be swapped to as many places as you like, and the first batch was capped by how many niches I could come up with. So I built a master niche list: the 200 most popular locations, in one place. Now every location design could be bulked to 200 products instead of 50, and the same list worked again on the next design, and the next run.

Locations were just the example. Occupations, or anything with a word that swaps, gets its own list of 200 and the same reuse.

### Posting: unchanged

Designed in Canva the same way, bulked the same way, posted to Amazon the same way.

### Editing: where all the time went

The post-upload edits took the most time in the first batch, so this is where most of the upgrade landed. Four changes.

- **Titles.** Instead of writing each one by hand, AI generated every title and the generic backend keywords.
- **Mockups.** Placeit meant placing every design by hand. I replaced it with a template built once in Photoshop and a script that swaps the variable, so generating the mockups became hands off.
- **Listing edits.** I pushed every product from Printify to Amazon as it was. Then, instead of opening each listing and editing it one by one, I download Amazon's Category Listings Report. It's a report that hands you the data of your listings in spreadsheet form, so you can edit the titles and backend keywords in the spreadsheet and upload it back, which is a lot easier than doing it one at a time through Seller Central. One spreadsheet edit instead of 200 listings one by one.
- **Images.** Same idea for the pictures. Instead of opening each listing and swapping its image one by one, Amazon lets you upload images in a zip file. Name each image according to amazon's requirement, zip the folder, and upload it once, and every listing gets its picture in one go.

Each of those saved a lot of time, and together they were version one of my upload process.

## What it fixed

The impression part of the funnel. Posting more products means more people get to see them, which gives more chances at clicks and sales further down.

**More products in at the top. That was the whole first upgrade.**

The next fixes are coming as I make them. If you want to see each one as it happens, you can [get them by email](https://pixelsnprofits.com/#/portal/signup).

Keep upgrading,
